How It Works

                   An ASCEND tutor comes to your home and delivers a simple   test that uncovers obstacles to your child’s academic success.  

 Once this is done, they create an Individualized Learning Plan that helps your child   improve in the areas they most need. 

       In addition to focusing on subject-area content, our students are coached in test-taking strategies and practice with materials that resemble State Tests.

    Our tutors are trained to work successfully with students at every level, and tailor instruction for students with specific learning disabilities and limited English  proficiency. ASCEND is committed to furthering academic improvement for every child.

     Because the program is based on content aligned to State Standards, students who complete the 25-30 lesson tutoring cycle will show measurable improvement in at least two to four standard-based areas of focus. Students completing 90% of scheduled sessions have shown to average 55% in gains over the course of the tutoring term (Source: ASCEND Internal Test Data 2010-11).
