ASCEND Tutoring Systems offers qualified people an opportunity to generate supplemental income while helping students improve academically. ASCEND Tutors work with local K-12 students in the areas of Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics. Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- EDUCATION - Hold a Bachelor's Degree, or have obtained an Associate's Degree with 60 post-secondary credit hours, with emphasis in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields.
- EXPERIENCE - Have a minimum of 12 months experience working with youth. Acceptable Experience includes prior K-12 Tutoring Experience, Programming or Instruction to School Age Youth (K-12), Substitute or Student Teaching, Paraprofessional or Teacher's Aide Work, or Experience as a Certified Teacher.
- TECHNOLOGY: Basic Computer Skills and Internet Access for Reporting, Online Training, and Communications.
- AVAILABILITY - All work is performed outside of school. Tutors must be available to work after school hours, evenings, and weekends.
- TRANSPORTATION - ASCEND Tutors work in Client Family Homes, so reliable transportation is required.
